Cameras types and uses in an investigation:

As we all know there are two types of cameras now the standard film and negative camera and Digital camera. Both of witch have their advantages and disadvantages in an investigation. Here we will discuses these advantages and disadvantages. As well as the best use during an investigation.

Standard 35 mm camera:

When using a 35 mm camera to snap photos at an investigation. You never know what you may have captured on film until the investigation is over. You have the cost of film and possibly you will have the cost of developing also. Unless of course you have your very own dark room. One advantage to the 35 mm camera is that if you do capture a piece of evidence. The best way to authenticate photos is to  take the picture and the negative. These are then compared to prove the photo has not been tampered with.

Digital Camera:

When using a digital camera to snap photos at an investigation you can see almost instantly whether or not you  have captured anything. But unless you have one of the new 5 mega pixel or better digital cameras. It is impossible to authenticate the photos. And no skeptic will ever believe your photos are not doctored. With the new 5 meg pixel cameras they save the raw material for your photos as well the pictures them selves have the date and camera settings embedded right into the picture for authentication purposes. As well with the digital camera you avoid the added cost of film and developing. You can print only the photos you want. Also with the digital picture . They are much easier to analyze. When put on your computer you can zoom in see much clear and easier than you can with a standard picture.

So for investigation purposes it is recommended that you have a 5 mega pixel or better digital camera. I would recommend using both types during your investigation. That way you get the best of both worlds. There are some general rule to be aware of when using a camera in a investigation. Keep these in mind will you are investigating. First always make sure your camera lens is Clean free from dust and moister, As this can cause false orbs to appear in your photos. Second be cautious that nothing gets in front of your lens A finger or the camera strap have often been mistaken for a paranormal event. Third make sure it is not raining or snowing again the light reflecting from these may cause false orbs on your pictures. And Final be sure not point your camera at reflective surfaces such as window, mirror, or Shiny tombstones. As the reflected light can cause all sorts of unusual photos. Happy ghost hunting!!
